Hypnosis is a state of relaxation during which your senses and imagination may function more efficiently. The hypnotherapist guides the client into this relaxed state using their voice, with the intent of helping resolve the client’s problem, not taking control. People experience hypnosis differently, but many say it’s just like watching a film when you are gripped by the storyline, but could still leave the room if you needed to.
While being hypnotised, the client is likely to drift between light and deep states of relaxation, similar to the time just before you go to sleep. Sometimes the client will be aware of everyday sounds in the room or outside and sometimes the client will hardly notice the time passing by.
